Independence Day is here! A great holiday that we celebrate with family and friends – we don’t want to keep you from bbq’s, picnics or any fun activities you have planned today but we want to share a few words on how our team is spending the day.
We wish you a Happy 4th of July and hope you’re making wonderful memories with those you love!
Sue: I will be spending July 4th and the following few days in the Catskill Mountains. It’s great to see how rural communities celebrate. While New York City always puts on a great Macy’s 4th of July fireworks spectacular which is, well, spectacular, there’s something heartwarming about small-town celebrations. The fair comes to town in Margaretville, and the firework display is still something everyone looks forward to. I’ll be relaxing on my deck, enjoying being in a quieter, slower environment that’s close to nature for a few days.
Dennis: At my house in upstate NY flying the flag while on the deck sipping Margaritas.
Michael: I’ll be spending the Fourth of July in Wisconsin visiting family. My father and his granddaughter (my niece) will be marching in the village parade. I won my first design award – best bicycle decoration as a kid and was featured in the village chronicle. But this year, I’ll be on the sidelines cheering. Happy Fourth of July everyone.
Giselle: I’m going to spend the 4th of July with my family, here in NY. We don’t have big plans, I just hope this to be a special time to disconnect from the distress that the news is causing me. Hopefully, I will be able to detox and recharge my energy.
Sara: I can’t wait to spend the day with family and friends! We always have a big barbeque in my backyard – my dad grills up way too much food- and a bunch of people from the neighborhood stop by and hang out for a few hours. I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone I don’t get to see as much during the work week, and can’t wait to indulge in lots of burgers and hotdogs! (And also catch up on some much-needed R&R).
Lourdes: My husband and I celebrate July 4th by traveling to an American town/city every year. We both love to travel and don’t get to see much of the United States for most of the year since we travel abroad on most occasions but on this holiday we love to stay and explore the beautiful areas in our own backyard! This year we are headed to Traverse City in Lake Michigan to visit wineries, hike and swim in the lake! It’s supposed to be beautiful so we are very excited.
Valentina: 4th of July I will be heading down to the Jersey Shore! My friend and her family rent the same house every single year in Lavallette Beach. I’ll be joining them that day and night! We’ll beach it up during the day and then see the fireworks at night with some food and drinks.
Phoebe: I am unfortunately not doing anything too exciting for the 4th… my boyfriend and I (weather permitting) are going to a local beach where we live in CT to watch the fireworks that the town puts on every year. During the day I am going to a BBQ at my dad’s house in Jersey for some food and swimming!!
Eco18 hopes everybody has a fun, BBQ filled, and most importantly, safe Fourth of July weekend!
