5 At-Home Workouts You Can Do Now That It’s Cold Outside

by Juliette Baumann

Once it gets below 50 degrees outside, I suddenly find myself with a myriad of reasons why I just can’t make it to the gym. If you can relate, check out my list of 5 killer home workouts from my favorite Instagram influencers that I know you’ll love! The last one is my favorite!

Let’s Start Yoga – Jessica Ollie

If you’ve ever been interested in yoga, but you’re just not a studio person or you’re worried you’re not flexible enough for yoga, an e-book is perfect for you to start your journey from the comfort of your home. When Jessica Ollie started with yoga she couldn’t even touch her toes and now she’s one of the biggest “yoga influencers” on the ‘gram. In her e-book “Let’s Start Yoga,” Jessica shares the foundations of how to build a strong yoga practice to fit YOUR body. She also includes how to plan your yoga week, examples of how to structure each session, and step by step guidance on how to get into poses. You can grab her original e-book for $29.99 from her website and gain endless inspiration and raw realness from her Instagram feed whenever you need a pick-me-up!

Obé Fitness

As a self-professed fitness studio junkie here in NYC, Obé Fitness is the best of both worlds in my opinion. This online fitness hub streams classes from NYC’s best instructors straight to your living room. It’s great if you’re just starting out or you’re already a fitness fanatic. You can attend the live signature classes 7 days a week, or choose from the library of over 500 on-demand classes, all of which are only 28 minutes or shorter and there’s no equipment required. Additionally, the classes are divided into three categories depending on your mood: DEFINE for strength training, SWEAT for cardio-based, and FLOW for yoga and stretch classes. It’s only $27 a month and if you sign up now you can try it free for 7 days!

Yoga with Adrienne

I’ve actually written about Adrienne’s YouTube videos on Eco18 before, but they’re free (!!) and she’s a joy so I thought I would mention them again. I was surprisingly introduced to Adrienne by my 20-something year old brothers who are the last people you would think would be into home yoga. After following along with her for a few videos I totally get the hype and why she has over 3 million subscribers. Adrienne is easy to follow, fun, and it’s wonderful that you can pause and rewind as needed instead of trying to keep up in a studio class resulting in never really nailing a particular pose.

Luke Zocchi’s A-List Fitness Plan

I’m not sure how I first started following Luke on Instagram, maybe it had something to do with the fact that he’s Chris Hemsworth aka THOR’s personal trainer or his cheeky Australian accent. But what made me keep following him were the hilarious 20-minute meal videos and promise of his new book coming out, The A-List Diet and Fitness Plan. Well, the book is finally here and he shows us how to get in fighting shape in just 20 minutes a day with his HIIT workouts, the same ones he uses with Chris! You have to buy the book in order to do this workout at home, but an investment of $29 is well worth it to have forever access to his powerful and time-saving HIIT workouts!

Melissa Wood Health

I’m saving my favorite for last! Melissa is such a light on Instagram and is easily in my top 5 favorite accounts that I follow. Her feed instantly brightens my day because of the positivity, realness, and inner beauty that radiates from each of her posts. Instead of feeling like you need to change yourself by hammering out hard workouts, Melissa gently encourages you to be your best self through her movement principles, mindful eating, and meditation. Now that I’m through singing her praises, you’re probably curious about the workouts. Melissa has developed her own method appropriately named The MWH Method, which are slow controlled movements rooted in yoga and Pilates style principles to sculpt long, lean lines throughout your entire body. These workouts can be done anywhere you have internet access and are available exclusively through her website, www.melissawoodhealth.com where you can sign up for a month to month subscription for $9.99 or get a full year unlimited for $99!
