Plants For People Who Frequently Kill Plants

When proposing this article, I proposed using the title of “Plants for Brownthumbs” but was quickly shut down. Brownthumbs, just for the record, are those of us who appreciate having greenery in our lives, would like to care for an nourish plants but just don’t seem to have the wherewithal to sustain the life of a plant for longer than a week. I wholeheartedly place myself in Team Brownthumb and have gone in search of the toughest plants that are virtually impossible not to care for – unless you water them with gasoline, leave them in your basement, or just don’t water them at all.

We’ve listed the plants’ “civilian” names – if you can’t keep them alive, we really don’t expect you to be memorizing Latin..

Aloe Vera

Sago Palm

Rubber Tree

Spider Plant

Dracaena
