If you find yourself leaving your Christmas shopping to the last minute or if you’ve been putting off your shopping in the fear of waiting in shopping ques for hours, you’re not alone. Luckily Eco18 has put together a list of ways to curb the crowds this Christmas so you are able to stay stress-free and get your shopping done efficiently.
1. If you’re going to do it, do it right!
We can appreciate that some people like to wander aimlessly around the wonderland that is Macy’s, looking for the perfect gift. The important part is to make sure you go at the right time. Tackling Macy’s (or any department store during the holiday season) at midday on a Saturday is going to see yourself waiting in line at the registers until January. Eco18 recommends hitting the shops in your weekday lunch hour, late at night or first thing in the morning. These times are usually when the floors are at their quietest and when you’re most likely to avoid the crowds.
2. Be A ‘Know It All’
Everyone hates a ‘know it all,’ but at Christmas time, it will save you a whole lot of time. Knowing what gifts you need to buy can help you to cut your Christmas shopping time in half. Try writing a detailed Christmas list before you hit the shops and it will save you hours of browsing time.
3. Do your research!
If you know what’s on your Christmas list this year, try researching where your product is available. Sometimes you might find a stockist that is in a quieter and more discrete location that can save you travel time and crowds. You might even find that what you’re after has sold out in your desired location, so doing your research can help you stay one step ahead and save time and energy.
4. Go Eco & DIY!
Here at Eco18, one of our favorite ways to curb the crowds is to make gifts at home with recyclable items. Not only can this be a more personal approach but it can also be a fun activity to do over the weekend. From homemade body scrubs to personalized photo-frames, Pinterest has a never-ending list of suggestions to help you get creative at home and beat the shopping crowds. 5. Get Online!
Let’s all take a moment of silence to thank the coming of the digital age. With the glorious World Wide Web at our fingertips, online shopping is the number one key to curbing the crowds this Christmas. Almost every retail store now has the option to shop online which means that you can do almost all of your Christmas shopping online and have it directly delivered to your door. Just remember to take note of delivery periods to make sure your goods arrive on time.
If you have any other tips or tricks to curb the crowds this Christmas, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
Happy Shopping!
