Every year the Oscars come and go, but one thing that always leaves a lingering impression is the fashion. This year was no exception, so we decided to create a roundup of our top 5 looks from the ceremony.
1. Laura Dern: This actress has been a red carpet staple since she was 7, the age when she attended her first ceremony with her mother. Not usually a risk taker, she decided to go for it this year in a showstopping metallic gown by Alberta Ferretti, complete with an effortless blowout, and jewelry by Bulgari featuring the color turquoise in honor of the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE Initiative. LUNG FORCE, which is nationally presented by CVS Health, works to make lung cancer in women a public health priority, drive policy change, education and increase research funding.
* Eco-Shout Out: Gina Rodriguez: The “Jane The Virgin” actress decided to make a statement by wearing a creation made for the “Red Carpet Green Dress Challenge” which was started by James Cameron’s wife Suzy Musing. Every year the challenge enlists one male and one female celebrity to help spread a message of eco-friendly, sustainably made, high fashion by wearing a sustainable frock to the Oscars. Gina wore a gorgeous cobalt gown was made out of sustainable silk by up-and-coming designer Manon Gabard.
