Subway Commuter Shows Random Act of Kindness; Reminds Us its the Little Things

by Leesa Raab

World Kindness Day is next week, but this simple nicety that was captured on a New York subway is a great reminder that we should practice random acts of kindness everyday, and a small gesture can go a long way.

Anyone who rides the subway knows first-hand what it is like to have their space crouched upon during a crowded commute–but this week, when a young man fell asleep right on to the shoulder of the man next to him, instead of pushing him off or waking him up, he just let him sleep. One of the other riders even offered to wake him up, to which the gentleman, identified as Isaac Theil, replied ‘”He must have had a long day, let him sleep. We’ve all been there, right?”

The photo taken by the other passenger has gone viral, as social media users have been touched by the simple compassion that was demonstrated.
