Did you know…. that at the venerable Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City there is a rooftop garden that houses a colony of beehives. The hotel’s culinary teams, who are trained beekeepers, conduct tours of the garden and beehives. The tour participants can later taste the homemade honey during afternoon tea.

 

 

Did you know.… that 6.5 percent of the solar power generated in this country is done by only 20 cities. Of the top ten cities generating solar power, not surprising, a good part of them are in the sun belt: Los Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix ranking 1,2,3 respectfully.  But Indianapolis, certainly not a sun belt city, ranks as number 4.

 

 

Did you know…. On March 29, 1886, Coca Cola was invented by a civil war veteran called John Stith Pemberton and his intention for the beverage was not one to quench your thirst but rather as a sort of an elixir to relieve the symptoms of  headaches, impotence, indigestion, nausea and an assortment of other illnesses. The formula contained extracts of coca leaves and kola nuts and it did contain traces of cocaine although how much is not fully known.

 

 

Did you know….That you can rent the country of Liechtenstein for $70,000 a night, with a minimum of 2 nights. For your fee, you can get customized street signs, accommodate 150 people and participate in a wine tasting at the estate of the head of state. Now that is a way to make an impression at your next event.

 

 

Did you know…. That at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport if you have an electric/hybrid car and you park it at the airport’s parking lot, you will find 48 electric car charging stations making it one of the top 10 advanced high tech and environmentally friendly airports in the nation.
