10 Apps to Stay Healthy for the New Year

It’s the start of a New Year and if you’re like most people, you’ve probably made at least one New Year’s resolution for 2016. Whatever your resolution may be this year, whether it be to lose weight, eat healthier or exercise more, there is an app that that can help you along the way. Here is our list of the top 10 apps to help you achieve your New Year’s resolution this year and have a healthy and happy year:

 

Eat healthier:

1.Juice: Track how your diet and exercise routine are making you feel. You can track anything from amount of hours slept to what you ate in a day. The best part? This app helps you check in with yourself and rate your energy levels daily. If you’re more tired one day than others, you’ll know something needs to change!

2.Yummly: More than 1 million healthy recipes searchable by the users dietary preferences from user generated content and top sites like AllRecipes and Food52. Yummly will make recommendations on new dishes based on what you like and you can keep your recipes in a personalized digital recipe box so you can revisit your favorites. Yummly has recently integrated with the Instacart app so users can find a recipe on Yummly, add the ingredients into a virtual cart and then have everything delivered within an hour via Instacart.

3.Fooducate: Simply scan the barcode on any food package with your smartphone and the app grades the food from an A to D to let you know how good or bad it is. The app explains why it gave the grade and gives you healthier options of similar products. Great for people who are looking to eat healthier but aren’t comfortable reading a food label!

4.Rise: This app pairs you with a registered dietitian and share photos of your meals with your coach and your coach then  provides feedback on your meals. The best part of this app is that it holds you accountable for all of your meals so you’ll want to eat healthier.

5.Jefit: Find routines and new exercises while tracking your workout! Jefit is available on smartphones as well as online! This app allows you to easily workout those targeted areas you want to tone and build!

6.Yoga Studio: Because it’s not always possible to get to a yoga studio before/after work! Yoga studio allows you to take the studio with you where you can follow an instructor on a video and turn your beginner yogi into an expert!

7.7 Minute Workout Challenge: Don’t have an hour to fit in a workout? How about 7 minutes? This app provides a high intensity workout in a short amount of time and consists of 12 exercises that can be performed in seven minutes to achieve the equivalent of one hour’s workout.

8.Gociety: This is a social network for adventurers and allows members to share their outdoor skills and experiences with the community and make plans with others to get outdoors and stay fit through activities like rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking and more. This app is a great way to meet up with like-minded people who love outdoor adventures to stay active!

9.PRIV: Access your yoga instructor, fitness trainer or kickboxing instructor at the click of a button. PRIV is an app that is perfect for those that are constantly busy and need to schedule their healthy lifestyle around their hectic schedule. The app allows you to book fitness classes and instructors, as well as manicures and blowouts so you can always look your best!
