As a powerful work of activism while having fun in the sun, the Surfrider Foundation is celebrating the 9th Annual International Surf Day (ISD) today, June 20th! This is a day we can certainly get behind as they host events across the nation in beach communities, offering up surf lessons, beach cleanup and even food and music in some locations. You can check the Surfrider Foundation site for locations and additional information. Local to us there is an event at Rockaway Beach, which seems especially important this year in the wake of Superstorm Sandy that devastated the area.
