Why We Love Valentine’s Day

The history of Valentine’s Day–and the story of its patron saint St. Valentine –is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. The most popular belief about St. Valentine is that he was a priest from Rome in the third century AD. Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers.

Now, this festival of romantic love is celebrated by many, including us, and here are some of the reasons why we love Valentine’s Day!

I’m just a hopeless romantic. I love setting aside time to really enjoy an evening with no distractions. Just focusing on the person you are with and being in the moment. I’m also really happy getting flowers, always make me smile.
