Happy Holidays from us to you!

by Rachel Collins

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from the team here at eco18!

I love this time of year! Christmas is very special to me as I have such fond memories of growing up in England and how we celebrated. I’ve never grown out of the anticipation, the festivities, the carol singing, the giving and receiving gifts and just the general fun times with family and cousins playing silly games after a huge Christmas dinner! Fast forward to being in New York for the past 30+ years. It’s different in America, Thanksgiving is the time for families and Christmas (or “The Holidays”) seems less about family and more about shopping. The retail push certainly overshadows the sentiment of the season. But I still love it. I hang on to my traditions by sending Christmas cards (real ones delivered by snail mail) decorating my home (always a real tree), baking, cooking and enjoying things that perhaps I only ever have this time of year. Giving gifts is way more fun for me than receiving them. And there is always a trip to the theater for a show – this year it was Radio City and the Rockettes. As Christmas winds down, the time before New Years is a perfect time to reflect on the year past and plan for the year ahead. I enjoy the quiet time, it gives me the opportunity to think and really appreciate my life and everyone in it. When your family and close friends live in another country, it’s difficult to travel back every year around the holidays. This year I’ll be up in the mountains by a roaring fire and maybe there might just be a White Christmas.
Whatever this holiday means to you and however you choose to celebrate, have a happy and healthy holiday season.

I made the decision this holiday season to put aside the temptation of focusing in the rush of getting the presents and organizing major gatherings, and instead I’ll be dedicating my time to enjoy the moments I have with friends and families. I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a New Year full of health, peace, and love!

It is my sincerest hope that your holiday is filled with love, laughter and joy. Take this time to relax and unwind (like me!) and devote some time to your hobbies. It has been a challenging, yet rewarding year, I plan on using this time to reflect on my achievements and prepare for whatever may lie ahead! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

-Aimee

This holiday season, I’m reminded that no matter where we are or who we are, it’s important to come together and share joy, love, and peace. I’m grateful for my family and friends, near and far, and I look forward to starting the New Year with a renewed sense of purpose.

As we ring in the New Year I look back at all the great times I have had with family and friends. Now brings a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. May this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements and a lot of new inspirations!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year filled with laughter, family, friends and lots of yummy food! Let’s take this time to celebrate what matters most with the people we love, and enjoy the days off with lots of rest, relaxation and, if you’re like me, drinking hot coco and watching every Christmas movie imaginable 🙂
