Summer 2017’s Most Unique Fitness Trend

by

Summer will be here before you know it! If you have been putting off working on that summer body until now, there are a few new classes that might just peak your interest and give you the push you need to get on track. Here are a few predictions for the most unique fitness trends we will see this summer.

Beer Yoga

Yes, you read that correctly, a yoga class where you drink beer! These classes have been gaining popularity across the US and with summer around the corner, who wouldn’t want to drink a few cold brews while practicing yoga? This concept is said to have originated at Burning Man and now breweries and yoga studios across the nation are tapping into this fitness trend. Be on the lookout for a class near you this summer.

Stretching Classes

We all know the importance of stretching but how many of us actually take the time to do it? Stretching is just as important as your actual workout. It not only helps with recovery but it also helps improve your mobility and performance. Now there is no excuse to not stretch with the trend of stretching studios popping up in major cities. These studios offer 45- 60 minute sessions where coaches work one-on-one with clients to help them stretch. Some of the most popular studios are StretchOut Studios, which opened several months ago in the Boston area, Stretchlab, which opened in June 2015 in the Los Angeles area, and Stretch Zone, which has locations in California, Florida, North Carolina and other states.

Goat Yoga

If beer and yoga isn’t your thing, then what about a class where goats walk around and interact with you while work on your warrior pose? The concept started on a farm in Willamette Valley, Oregon last August and has since been growing in popularity across the country. Yoga is a great way to help relieve stress and what better way to do it than on a farm surrounded by nature. Be on the lookout for a Goat Yoga class at a farm near you this summer.
