We’ve recently covered some of our favorite organic wines and even about how the wine packaging industry is going green, and now for those of you who will be in the New York area this weekend you can go learn about the latest eco, organic and biodynamic wine trends at the New York Wine Expo, taking place at the Jacob Javitz Center March 1-3.
The New York Wine Expo is the chance to go experience a day of tasting from around the world as attendees travel through the vineyards of Europe and the Mediterranean; from South America to South Africa; and coast to coast in the United States–and all without even leaving the city. In all, attendees will have the opportunity to choose from a sampling of over 500 wines. The wineries that are offering biodynamic and organic wines are all clearly marked, giving you the chance to ask more questions about their practices–and as I did last year when I attended, inquire with the ones who aren’t showing green practices, what their future plans are for doing so.
The New York Wine Expo is open to the public on Friday and Saturday, with a trade only day on Sunday. Tickets are available at the below pricing at the New York Wine Expo website; although we’ve seen some deal sites offering tickets at a discounted rate. Along with the Grand Tasting, consumers can purchase tickets to a variety of seminars led by industry experts. Sounds like the perfect way to go spend a chilly Saturday, if you ask us!
